DO YOU WANT TO REPRESENT THE INTERESTS OF YOUR PARISH AND BECOME A PARISH COUNCILLOR?
ELECTIONS WILL TAKE PLACE ON 7TH MAY 2015 FOR ALL PARISH COUNCILLORS
Being a Parish Councillor can be a very rewarding and interesting experience – in the last 12 months the Parish Council has led the refurbishment of the Play Area at the Recreation Ground, held discussions over the fate of the public toilets and commented in detail on the Creedwell Orchard planning application.
In the next 12 months the Council will provide a community defibrillator, donate and relocate a Red Telephone Box to the School, contribute to sustainable development though direct engagement with planning applications and proposed site allocations within Taunton Deanes Local Plan. It will also continue to work to reduce traffic and parking pressures within the village.
Council meetings are monthly and members are encouraged to develop their roles to take responsibility for topics like Play Areas, Planning, Health and Youth provision, Emergency Planning etc.
As you can see there is a lot going on so if you are interested in becoming a Councillor and would like an initial discussion about what is involved please contact the Clerk, Gwilym Wren Tel 400657
