Welcome!

Milton High School's Mu Alpha Theta Chapter is dedicated to inspiring keen interest in mathematics, developing scholarship in the subject and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in high school students. We offer free tutoring sessions (see link in top menu) and induct new members every September!

How to Recieve Points

  • 0.5 point for each meeting that you attend.
  • 1 point for each 30 mins of tutoring (Media Hub or individual)... Click on "Tutoring" tab for more information!
  • 2 points for math presentations - For example, creating a presentation on number theory and presenting it to the club members the day of the club
  • 0.5 point for bringing breakfast items to meetings (donuts, muffins, juice, etc.)

10 points required for 2nd semester (30 minutes of tutoring=1 point)

Mini-Mathletes Tournament: 1 point per hour of service

Honor Cords

Seniors must be in good standing with Mu Alpha Theta throughout the year in order to receive an honor cord in May.

Requirements to Join:

    • Must have completed 4 semesters of college preparatory mathematics classes
    • Must have an overall 3.0 GPA and at least a 90 average in all high school math classes combined
    • Open to all high school students who meet these requirements!
