It's time to start a young makers club in Mill Valley!

We are here to inspire and develop the next generation of makers, creators, and innovators and to create a community of like-minded youth, parents, and other adults interested in this goal.

We are inspired by the Young Makers organization.
See us at Maker Faire!
Make sure to visit us in the outside Young Makers area, on the "West Lot", Sunday May 22nd from 10am till 2pm.

Our Project

 Armored Robot Guard Dog Vehicle

Design contributed by Will, Nicholas, James and Geanluc

We will build a 3 wheeled vehicle that carries people and has an animatronic guard dog on the roof that will come out of his cage and bark at intruders.

Upcoming Events

Next Saturday, 1-4pm - Build Session at Lester Shop

How to Join

Our group has nearly been formed, but if you are interested in participating (either as a young maker or as an adult volunteer), it's easy to get started.   Membership requires enthusiasm and a desire to create something fantastic.   There are no membership dues or fees - only earnest participation is required.  Here's what you should do:
  • Sign yourself up at YoungMakers.org: http://www.youngmakers.org/sign-up-1
  • Read at the Project Match form, provided on the youngmakers.org website (external link):  view online,  download
  • Email Chad to express your interest:  chad.lester@gmail.com
  • Attend our introductory meeting on January 13th at 4:00pm in Mill Valley (124 Sycamore Avenue).

About Us

This club is being started by three dedicated volunteers in Mill Valley (read more on the bio's page):
  • Aaron Schiller
  • Chad Lester
  • Lutz
We are planning on using the Lester Lab's (i.e. Chad's Garage) as our workshop until it no longer suits our needs.  We have a MIG welder, table saw, chop saw, power hand tools, router, jigsaw, and soldering equipment, among other things.
