Car sharing / lift sharing can have many benefits
Sharing car journeys is an obvious way to save money - and possibly save driving - if only you know someone else making similar journeys. There are websites designed to allow travellers to register their journeys to offer a sharing option. Similarly, those not wishing to drive can use the sites to possibly find someone willing to have them as a passenger. Three such websites are listed below.
While the scheme seems such a good idea, there might be implications and risks. It is therefore recommended that you research these issues first.
Liftshare - quite possibly the best option of the three. Sign-up (free) required to obtain contact details of other users.
[Please report if the Liftshare link doesn't work, thanks.]
National Car Share - requires sign-in before journey can be planned.
Rideshare - appears to have limited start/finish locations.
