Life's Penance - Lincoln Burke is at a crossroads in his life. He isn't ready to take the next step with his longtime girlfriend Lise Phillips, and his job is nothing but a dead end. After his friend Rick Bestest ends up in the hospital, his married friends separate, and a family emergency dares to call him back north, he must make a decision of a lifetime. Life's Penance follows Lincoln, Lise and Rick as they deal with the trials of life and death and search for the meaning behind it all.

- Richard "Dick" Porter - Dick works at the Brookstone in Pentagon City where he met Linc and Lise one day in an awkward misunderstanding. They later introduced him to his now wife Bea.
- Beatrice "Bea" Simons Porter - Bea is Lise's best friend having met at a Yoga class. She works as a scheduler for the Metrorail system and takes her work seriously. She only wishes her husband Dick takes her seriously.
- William "Liam" Phillips - Lise's younger brother works at the Cameron Run Regional Park and lives in North Arlington. He spends a lot of time with his sister and her boyfriend Linc, but doesn't seem to be interested in any relationships of his own.

Reviews are in!
Two reviews have been posted to the Life's Penance page on Amazon.com:
From user Janio, 5 Stars "A Stirring Tale!"
Surely, this articulate author has commend this tale with dread and sorrow mingled in sickness, missed opportunities and death. The story grows as a babe, from birth to adulthood. The unique imageries and well-seasoned characters testifies to the dull ambiance roaming each chapter. Lise and Linc, posed as the lead characters and they both dominated roles. With the passing of Linc, the true essence and plot of the story took shape. Indeed, this book earns the right to provoke one thoughts’!
From user Nita, 5 stars "Thoughtful!"
Aha…………this thoughtful tale is well equipped with events that teases the mind. The unpredicted twists and turns lingering around each suspense is well executed. The writing style possessed clarity and interest. Certainly this mind gripping tale records thought provoking events relating to the lives of Lise and Linc. Surprisingly, these well-crafted characters portrayed deep emotions. Now that’s an A plus!
Do you agree with Janio and Nita?

Sorry for the delay in updating, but there hasn't been much to update. We have a cover photo now chosen and three design concepts have been created. Please look over the three files both here and on the Facebook page. Please vote on the Facebook page for your favorite. We are also taking suggestions for improvements.
We are moving ahead with planning the launch tour. The first event will be somewhere in the DC area. The second will be at the Beaver Area Heritage Museum in Beaver, PA, on Thanksgiving weekend. The museum hosted Keith's first ever book signing for Polk's Soliloquy on Thanksgiving weekend 2010, so Keith is returning for a second go around. More dates will be announced as they become available.
The final editing phase is going on now. Once it is complete and Keith does his final review, the manuscript will be submitted to Lulu for processing. If all goes well the book will be available for download by mid-November!
Advance copies are already being sent out and early reviews are already coming in. Check back to find out more as we move forward with this and the rest of Millennial Row!

Keith is halfway through his review and has sent the first four chapters on for the final round of editing. He plans on finishing his review by this weekend, watching for continuity, plot and excess verbiage. Once the final round of editing is complete and the changes are made, we will start working with Lulu.com to create the ePub and distribute it through their site and Ingram Imprint. We are now actively scouting locations for a launch party and have ordered 50 64MB flash drives so that we can sell copies anywhere! Each Millennial Row Flash Drive will come loaded with Life's Penance on ePUB and PDF as well as information on the rest of Millennial Row and a special bonus! Check back here for more information as it becomes available!

Time for an LP Update: The first four chapters have gone through the first round of editing by Corey Parker. Once the second four are done, Keith will do his read through and update. Anna Kelner will be doing the third round shortly thereafter, completing the editing process.
Click on over to the Facebook page to look at all of the cover photos taken thus far. We are leaning toward the Modern cover design with one of these photos, or perhaps another donning the jacket. Any thoughts? Let us know!

Met with our editor extraordinaire tonight and he has nearly completed chapters 1-4. Keith gave him chapters 5-8 for review. We expect a complete review before the end of the month. We have been exploring our options on publishing. We are currently working in partnership with Lulu.com and wish to continue to do so. We will hopefully be purchasing the ISSN for the book, as well as additional books in the Millennial Row series, soon.

Chapter 8 was completed early this morning. It brings the final, unedited word count to 38,741 words across 83 pages (8.5 x 11). Two cover proposals have been made and posted to the Facebook page for review. The official cover photo has not been taken yet but will be done soon. A stand in looking west on Four Mile Run in Alexandria, VA., is shown on the proposed covers.
The first four chapters are going through their first round of editing. The next four will be transferred to the first editor this week. Once the first edits are made, Keith will do his first full read through before passing it along to the second editor for review. Once both editors have been consulted, the manuscript will be transferred to Lulu Enterprises for publication.
We have a tentative release planned for December 2012 as an eBook for $1.99.
