Eleanore Levie will show us 250 years of American quiltmaking at its most freewheeling, improvisational, bold, and beautiful! She will puncture a few quilt myths, and show you how passionate individuality has been accepted-or not!! This magical history tour will crisscross from antique traditions-with-a-twist to contemporary art quilts, from high Amish handwork to poor unschooled expressions, and include many other historical, hysterical, and stellar examples of this cultural phenomenon. This presentation is sure to encourage traditional-leaning guild members to become a BIT more daring in their own quiltmaking!

Workshop (please note, this is the same day as program),with Eleanor Levie lets you discover the quilt designer and home decorator in YOU! You will learn how to take a classic quilt block and stretch it, alter it, and put your personal stamp on it. Eleanor will teach you drafting skills, easy applique embellishment, she will help you choose the perfect mix of fabrics for you original design. The featured project will be the Churn Dash Stretch table runner or create your own design with another stretched block.

The workshop will be held at the Delaware Township Building, 116 Wilson Hill Rd., Dingmans Ferry, on Wednesday, June 23rd from 1-4pm. The cost is $30.00, payable on sign up may be small refund-depending on number attending). Materials list supplied on sign up.
