Electromagnetics has seen amazing adoption to modern wireless communication devices and systems in the form of microwave and antenna engineering.As time goes on, the requirements on wireless systems are getting tougher and tougher, and RF majors and experts have got to advance design and implementation technologies of microwave components and antennas.

Additionally, the research on 5G communication hardware is popular and driving people to present good beamforming capabilities and lower power-dissipation from the antenna which should be densely integrated in a limited space. In order to cope with the harsh conditons given to components and antennas for LTE-A and 5G systems, metamaterial TX-lines, resonators and radiating elements have been suggested by Incheon Nat'l Univ. RF-EM group. In line with it, a variety of design examples of microwave and millimeter-wave structures with improved functions are shared along with the basics of metamaterial devices and surfaces.
