Incremental Reform & Piecemealism

The idea of making meaningful change through an incremental approach to social change. This is typically the American preference to allow a pragmatic approach to slowly change things through years of slow evolution in public policy formulation.

The Urban Planning visionary Paolo Soleri addresses through his "Better Kind of Wrongness" critique of many green and sustainability initiatives that operate through the incrementalist/reformist approach. His proposed an alternative to this putting forward what he termed the necessary "Reformulation" of society which involved a massive Marshall Plan type reinvestment in something similar to his more dense urban planning vision called Arcology.
