About us
We are Scientists and Engineers working in Nanoscience, Nanotechnology and Nanomanufacturing! We are affiliated to the Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (IMSE) & the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Departments at Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas. Understanding fundamental properties of materials at nanoscale and engineering their structure and properties to enable novel applications are the broader goal of our research. Our research is highly interdisciplinary. However, our activities are centered around Nanoscale Electronics, Sensing, and Energy using Nanoscale Materials such as Graphene and 2D materials, Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs), and Inorganic Nanowires.

(November 2022) Congratulations to our postdoctoral researcher Dr. Krishnamoorthy Rajavel and graduate researcher Thiba Nagaraja for publishing their research on 4-nitrophenol detection in drinking water using MXene electrochemical sensors! (October 2022) We very much welcome Dr. Surjit Sahoo to our group as our India-US Fulbright Nehru postdoctoral fellow to develop an energy storage project. Dr. Sahoo will spend 2 years to further establish his expertise on supercapacitors.

Welcome to Spring 2020 semester!
Starting from January 2020, Prof. Das leads a new NSF-UKRI research grant on Signal in the Soil (SitS), with an international team of five other research groups (at University of Texas San Antonio, University of Alabama Huntsville, and the University of Sheffield, UK). We are looking forward to working with the graduate students, undergraduate researchers, and postdoctoral researchers in this exciting project based on graphene soil-phosphate sensors! The award is highlighted by NSF in 2020 AAAS annual meeting at Seattle. Also, it is highlighted by the United Kingdom Research and Innovation.
Prof. Das, with two other research teams in grain science department at K-State, has won a one-year seed grant from Global Food Systems to work on E. Coli bacteria sensing using graphene.
