Dwight Mickelson (b. 1964), is a metal-worker, furniture-maker and  sculptor.  Raised in Hawley, Minnesota, Mickelson has always been interested in the intersections  that exist between art and craft, between nature and culture and between the body and the spirit.  He is committed to sustainable processes and products and finds joy both in making art and in the art objects themselves that result.  His creative pulse finds its rhythm in the worlds of traditional sculptural techniques and manufacturing as well as the spheres of music, travel and the environment. Since 2005, he has been the owner and operator of Mickelson Metal Studio, before which he owned Mickelson Body Shop, Hawley.  Mickelson is an active member of the Furniture Society, the Society of Minnesota Sculptors and the International Sculpture Center
