Michelle Salois, RN, MSW, LCSW.
As a Diplomate in Clinical Social Work and a Clinical Member of the American Association of Family Therapy, Michelle enjoys working with Couples in distress, Child behavior or emotional problems in a Family therapy context, and with Individuals who are wanting to address problems expressing as depression, anxiety or problematic behaviors.

With past experience in Nursing and Catholic Parish Ministry and an undergraduate degree in Theology; Michelle approaches counseling with a broad understanding of what in a person’s life and relationships might need a new kind of balance or understanding so that problems may be overcome, behaviors changed and relationships renewed. Michelle strives to combine a tender supportiveness with confident guidance and often uses between-session assignments to help people move actively towards their goals.
Deep wounds which disrupt daily living such as those resulting from childhood sexual abuse are a specialty of hers and she has developed many methods aimed at more rapid relief of the distressing symptoms so that the person may move sooner  toward a more fulfilling future. She has extensive experience working with issues of illness, dying and grief from her work in hospitals and Hospice care.

Therapy Models/Methods: Michelle especially enjoys helping with the more serious or challenging problems which some therapists prefer to avoid.  She has pursued post-graduate training through workshops, supervision and professional reading which includes Brief Family therapy methods, Cognitive therapy, Jungian Dream work, Interpersonal Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Emotion Focused Couples Therapy,  moderation management & 12 Step approaches.  Biofeedback is also available using the EMwave PSR device.

ONLINE services such as video conferencing sessions can be arranged at https://www.e-mhc.com/   Since I am licensed in MO and Illinois but not other states;  those from outside these two states may only use this service for life coaching and not psychotherapy/counseling.  Online treatment is not covered by insurance.

Graduate Students: Michelle Salois is an Adjunct Professor with all three St. Louis Schools of social work and as such supervises the final year of on the job training in counseling for one or more Master's students.  The Student is available for sliding scale (down to $0 as needed)

Licensure Supervision is available for those pursuing their LCSW -Clinical Social Work License- in Missouri or Illinois.
