Members of the Friends of the Michael White Adobe met with José Caire’s ASB Leadership Class at San Marino High School on February 16. Bill Enger presented a PowerPoint slideshow about the life of Michael White, and Jane Pojawa gave a brief demonstration of the features of the Michael White Adobe website. None of the approximately 20 students knew the history of Michael White or the historical significance of the adobe prior to this visit. The question and answer period that followed was instructive for all of the participants, and a clear need for educational outreach was defined. Neither teachers nor students have the tools that they need to utilize the adobe’s potential as an educational resource – this is a challenge to FotMWA, and we will meet it with a goal of ten additional classroom visits by the end of the semester. Any teachers or student organizations who would like to schedule a visit, please use our contact form. Bill Enger's presentation is attached below.
