Welcome

I am a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford University. My research interests range from the physics of molecular magnets to the function of metal ions in bio-inorganic systems. I use a variety of experimental techniques to investigate the physical properties of such systems. I have used inelastic neutron scattering extensively in combination with techniques such as electron paramagnetic resonance, and hall bar magnetometry. Recently I am focused on the use of synchrotron methods including soft x-ray magnetic circular dichroism, x-ray absorption spectroscopy and resonant inelastic x-ray scattering.

My current activities are supported by a Human Frontiers Science Foundation fellowship working for Prof. Ed Solomon. I obtained a Ph.D. from The University of Manchester, jointly supervised by Prof. David Collison, Prof. Eric J. L. McInnes,  and Prof. Richard E. P. Winpenny, having received a Ph.D. student fellowship from Institut Laue Langevin, Grenoble, co-supervised by Dr. Hannu Mutka and Prof. Hans U. Güdel. Benefiting from a Japanese society for the promotion of science fellowship I worked for two years with Prof. Hiroyuki Nojiri at Tohoku University.
