Gears for Change, a bicycle ministry of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho is sponsoring a September 16th multi-difficulty-level bicycle ride, “Mica Peak Century Plus,” in memory of cycling activist and homeless advocate Helen Lewerenz.

The fully-supported Mica Peak Century Plus Bike Ride begins Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012 at Vertical Earth at Riverstone Park. Ride day registration begins at 6:30 am with the 70 and 100 mile rides starting at 7:30 am and the 15 and 30 mile rides starting at 8:00.

It will offer four routes for riders. A 100-mile route will go to Rockford, Fairfield, Waverly, Valleyford, Spokane Valley and Post Falls.  A 70-mile route will go to Fairfield and back through Rockford.  There will also be two family-oriented routes—15 and 30 miles—on bike paths in Coeur d’Alene.
