Greece 2018



In the summer of 2018, the Art Department will be hosting a 9 day student trip to Greece! This trip is open to all 9-12 graders. We will be walking through ruins thousands of years old, visiting sites that have witnessed the birth of democracy, the first Olympics, and famous Oracles. We will be immersed in Greek Mythology and History. 
Travel Dates Window: Sunday June 24, 2018 --- Monday July 6, 2018
These are the earliest and latest days we will depart and return. They are dependent on flights and tours. 
Firm dates will be established 3 months prior to departure. 

Trip Highlights: 
ATHENS - The Acropolis, Olympic Stadium, and The Acropolis Museum
MYCENAE - Get your hands dirty at a Greek pottery studio specializing in ancient techniques
OLYMPIA - Historic site of the first Olympics
Delphi - Historic site of the Oracle of Delphi and the priests who shaped much of Greek's history with their communications with the gods
SARONIC CRUISE - 1 day cruise around the islands off the coast of Athens to experience a different side of Greece
GREEK EVENING - An evening out on the town in Athens to a traditional Greek restaurant for authentic food, music, dancing, and activities. 

Pricing
Up until June 30, 2017 the price is $3633. After June 30 the price will begin to increase according with travel expenses.

Passport- You must hold a valid passport for at least 6 months prior to the trip

This optional insurance covers almost anything that could happen on our trip. 
Students gets sick and needs to fly home ASAP? Covered. You need to fly out? Covered. Allergic reaction with a trip to a Greek hospital? Covered. Flights delayed? Covered. I highly recommend it. It's built in to the cost of the trip, but you can remove it. 

Rules
All student luggage will be searched by school personnel prior to leaving. There is no alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, or sexual activity allowed on this trip. 
Students are responsible for following directions and listening to chaperones at ALL times.
Students who are oppositional, not following rules, or jeopardizing their safety or the safety of others will be flown home with a chaperone at the parents expense as well as receiving school mandated consequences,
