Depending on how the day goes, I would like to dismiss you early. Please understand that if people are needing extra work on something, we won't be able to dismiss early. Please do not plan on being dismissed prior to 5pm!

T shirts will be (should be) handed out on Saturday afternoon. You have permission to wear them every day next week!

Nov 26 2013
Only 2 weeks until our first performance!
Tickets will be on sale next week at Senior School office or EEC reception. Charge is 20QR / seat
Ms Dellapa needs to see the following people during Wednesday break: Paula Pond, Igora, Mitzi, Rodolpho, Ivy, Mrs. Shrub
Due to the lack of respect today, no further takeaway or junk food will be allowed at rehearsals.

Nov 23 2013
Our first rehearsal in the auditorium! Here's how it went:
1. The acting of the people with lines is fairly good. The Castle Staff and Villagers have a lot of work to do on their characters.
2. Everyone still has a lot of work to do on the singing and choreography.  Please arrange with your groups to do break time / lunch time rehearsals!
3. This week, we will ALL meet at 2pm in the Drama area, and then get the props and head down to the auditorium for rehearsals. If you are in the 3-4 rehearsal, you MUST meet with Ms Mandy at 2pm in the Drama area.

Nov 19 2013
Saw some good things happening today! A few reminders, and a few announcements!
1. We have a rehearsal on SATURDAY. Please meet at 920am in the Drama area. We will gather our things, and then head down to the auditorium.
2. If you are wanting a tshirt for the show, you need to bring 60QR with you on Saturday
3. The WHOLE show needs to be memorised before Saturday's rehearsal. This includes ALL Music, ALL lines, and ALL dances!

Nov  11 2013
There were some really good things about today's rehearsal, and some really terrible things about today's rehearsal.
Villagers and Castle staff: You need to learn these songs in BIG voices = OPEN YOUR MOUTH

All cast members please remember that you must be at EVERY rehearsal that you are scheduled for.  There are 4 rehearsals left until our first dress rehearsal. Can you do the whole show from memory? Try... Get Mum or Dad to read the other lines from your script as you act out your lines.

Please note the added lunch or break time rehearsals next week!

Nov 7 2013
ASD has issued an invitation for our cast members to come and see their show next week. Tickets are 60QR for parents and 40QR for students. If you are interested in going (Tues, (12) Wed  (13) or Thurs (14) evening at 7pm) please bring me your money on SUNDAY before 2pm.
Alternatively, you can just go to ASD and buy a ticket at the door.

RECASTING:
I am recasting the part of RODOLPHO today. If you are interested, please come and see me.

Nov 2 2013
Many issues with people being on time for rehearsals today... this tells me that people are not reading the calendar very well. Please make sure you know:
1. Which songs you are in
2. Which Acts / Scenes you are in
3. Have all songs in Act 1 MEMORISED including the dances done so far

Many issues with people knowing their music today. Please follow Ms Gravelle's advice and SING along to the music. You also need to DANCE to the music as well. I look forward to seeing amazing things the next time we have a music rehearsal.

RECASTING
I will be recasting 2 parts tomorrow, and those will be posted here in the morning. If you are interested, please see Ms Mandy AFTER you see the posting on Sunday.  People who are re-cast will be expected to "catch up" very quickly, and this may even mean attending Monday's rehearsal time if you were not previously scheduled for it.

Oct 29 2013
Ms Mandy! I lost my script!
During the month of November you will notice that we have very few rehearsals... this means that I cannot excuse you from rehearsals except for illness. If you are in school, you need to be at your scheduled rehearsals!

PRACTICE ALL SONGS AT HOME  (even ones we haven't done in rehearsal)

See you on SATURDAY for our rehearsals until 4pm!!
Remember: Water Bottle, Lunch, Homework, Script
Note: Some people have a costume session at 930am. If you are unsure, please come to rehearsal 30min early and Ms Dellapa can try and fit you.

Oct 23 2013
I hope everyone had a restful break! Yesterday's rehearsal was a little bit rocky, but I did expect that after having so long away from it. Please make sure that you do NOT have your script on stage with you when we are running anything from Act 1. That way it forces you to rely on your memory rather than your eyes. We will give you prompts when you need them!

All the songs are now uploaded below. Ms Coull will add videos ASAP.  Each member of the cast is now responsible for LISTENING and LEARNING the music on their own. It is very easy to download your parts, Ms Gravelle has spent many, many, many hours getting it all prepared for you. Please use these tracks!

Ms Gravelle expects that people coming into rehearsals will now know their parts, even if it isn't quite memorised. She will not be teaching you the melodies, but will jump right into the harder stuff. This is because of the lack of time remaining before the performances.

If you notice on the calendar, we only have 1 rehearsal each week during the month of November.... this means you will need to take more responsibility for your part, and assisting your fellow cast members with their parts. We can make arrangements for people to use rooms to work on dances / lines / blocking etc during break and lunch, just ask!

I need to see the following groups at 12pm on THURSDAY: Villagers, Castle Staff, Tourists (please be on time!!) I won't take long and then you can go straight to lunch. Pass this message on to the other chorus members please!

Finally, the majority of the rehearsal schedule is now set until our performances start in December. There may be a few last minute changes, but I'm hoping that they are basically set.

Have a great week everyone!

Oct 8 2013
Hi everyone,
We had a few issues with rehearsal yesterday and again today with people not coming, and only giving me last minute notice (or no notice at all!) This means that for a few people, they weren't able to learn their part because the other characters of the group weren't there. Please be considerate of your fellow team members and make sure that appointments are scheduled on other days. When you have a sports competition, make sure Ms Mandy knows a week or more in advance so she can adjust the schedule. Everyone else needs to stay healthy!!

Please check below to see if your song is uploaded. I'm trying out a different method, so we can keep all the songs on here. Email me mhollingshead@qasenior.org if your song's link is broken or the file doesn't load properly.

Enjoy your break, and remember everything that we've done so far needs to be memorised by the end of Eid!

Oct 5 2013
Great rehearsal today everyone! I'm really happy that the majority of people were on time today. Thank you very much!

A few announcements:
1. Go through your script and check to see which songs you sing! (if it says Chorus it could be villagers or it could be castle staff)
2. Remember to please keep Doctor's Appointments away from rehearsal days
3. More songs have been recorded and uploaded, there will be further ones later this week. Keep checking back.
4. All the lines from Act 1 need to be memorised by the end of Eid
5. The songs "Bankruptcy", "It was a wolf," "My night to howl" and "Have I got a girl for you" must be memorised by the end of Eid.
6. Tourists, Cheerleaders etc have all been decided. Make sure you know which parts are yours!
7. Share this website with your parents so they can see what's going on (keeps them happy!)

Sept 30 2013
A few announcements for this week:
1. Please do NOT schedule appointments / other commitments on rehearsal days. It makes it very difficult to teach everyone what they need to know!!
2. Saturday rehearsal this week.  Make sure you bring Homework, Lunch and a water bottle. Having Homework to do is essential!! (So is lunch)
3. Make sure you read over the essential agreements , a few people have been breaking them already with their coffee bean litter!

Sept 9 2013
Anyone who is wanting to act in this year's production of "Cinderella Meets the Wolfman" needs to come to Auditions next Monday, Sept 16. Auditions will happen in the Senior School Drama area, and will go from 230pm-4pm. First come, first served!

"Cinderella Meets the Wolfman" is a musical comedy about who (or what) Prince Charming really is.  It is set in the modern day, in a small country that includes Draculas and Frankensteins. Characters include the Wolfman, the conniving step mother, the not-too-smart step sisters, the local gypsy, the famous star Paula Pond and her entourage, a tour guide, some tourists, the village residents, the royal servants, court jester, and the royal advisors Snig and Snog.  We're looking for students who like to laugh, have fun and be playful on the stage.

Below is an audio link to one of the songs. Practice this for the audition!

See Ms Mandy in the music area if you have any questions.

I've started to draw up a document of who sings what . This may not be accurate, make sure you check your script for each song!
She won't suspect a thing
