Richard F. Aster Jr. Professor of Economics at UC Santa Barbara
Professor of Strategic Management at University of Toronto (on leave)
Director, NBER Personnel Economics Working Group
I study the determinants of workplace productivity, working at the intersection of labor economics, personnel & organizational economics, and behavioral economics. I am particularly interested in questions related to hiring, both in terms of firm performance and in terms of consequences for workers and society.
I often hire research assistants. If you are an undergrad or graduate student looking for RA work, please email me with a CV or resume, as well as an unofficial transcript. In your email, please also include a couple sentences about your research interests.
