My research interest is to build solutions for robust visual object recognition problems using Machine Learning both in practical and theoretical aspects. My current works involve

  • Deep Learning/Neural Networks,

  • Transfer Learning,

  • Domain Adaptation/Generalization,

  • Sparse Coding,

  • Kernel Methods,

  • Dimensionality Reduction, (e.g. PCA, LDA, ICA), and

  • Differential Geometry.

I spent my memorable 5-year undergraduate and master studies in School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indonesia, from 2005 to 2010. Before starting my PhD, I was a lecturer, researcher, programmer/software engineer, and sometime an amateur musician. Now I'm also a father of one daughter.
