Poetry Photo Story requirements:
 
  • Part 1: Choose a poem for your Photo Story
    • After you have chosen your poem, copy/paste the poem onto a blank document so you have it to use (you will print it later when you get ready to record your voice)
    •  Links to Poems online:
    • Read the poem 2-3 times. Think of the following:
      • What is the theme of the poem?
      •  What images come to mind during the poem?
      •  Is there a message to this poem?
    •  
  • Part 2: copy & analyze the poem

After you have chosen your poem:

1.     copy/paste the poem onto a blank google doc

2.     submit to google classroom

3.     Read the poem 2-3 times. Think of the following:

      • What is the theme of the poem?
      • What images come to mind during the poem?
      • Is there a message to this poem?
  • Part 3: Complete the Storyboard Worksheet

1.       Look at the example of the storyboard created for the One Inch Tall video

2.       Following that example, create a storyboard for your poem

a.       You video must have a minimum of 8 slides

                                                    i.          First slide = title slide

                                                   ii.          Last slide = conclusion slide

  • Part 4: Collect images for your poem

§  after you have your storyboard completed, begin looking for your images

o    you can use basic search engines (google or bing)

§  SAVE your images into your Poetry Photo Story folder we created earlier this week

§  Get creative, ask classmates for suggestions

§  Photo quality matters!

  • Part 5: Importing your photos & customizing motion

§  open a blank PowerPoint

o    Add title slide

o    begin adding your images in the order of the poem

§  experiment with photo edits & customizing the motion of your project

§  Add conclusion slide

 

 

  • Part 6: Record your voice
    • beginning with the title slide, begin recording your voice
      • each slide needs to be recorded separately
      • work on the timing/animation
  • Part 7: Add slide transitions
    • beginning with the title slide, add transitions that work with your voice & the image

§   

  • Part 8: Convert video & load on website
    • This step is done by my student assistants
