First Steps in Programming RISC OS Computers (Second Edition) by Martyn Fox
The first edition of this book was originally published under the title First Steps in Programming Acorn RISC OS Computers by Sigma Press Limited in 1993. It has been out of print for several years.
This second edition was released as a freeware DTP document by Martyn Fox in 2001, both in its original form as an Impression document and as a conversion to Ovation Pro format by Richard Hallas.
A printed book version has been produced by David Bradforth of Alligata Media. Email David for details.
Some of these files were also included in Issues 6 and 12 of Foundation RISC User, published by RISCOS Ltd. for members of the RISC OS Foundation. In addition, Issue 12 included a specially enhanced HTML edition, unique to FRU, in which the example programs are integrated into the chapters of the books, and can be run by a single click on an icon. (A DVD compilation of Issues 1-16 was once available for non-members to purchase, but this appears to have been discontinued.)

A Beginner's Guide to Wimp Programming (Second Edition) by Martyn Fox
The first edition of A Beginner's Guide to Wimp Programming was published in 1992, also by Sigma Press. My father began work on a second edition, but sadly died before he could complete it. Richard Hallas has kindly finished the remaining work on the book, which can be downloaded below in various formats.
The second edition first appeared in Issue 16 of Foundation RISC User, which included a specially enhanced HTML edition unique to FRU. This version could also be found on the Foundation RISC User DVD, which could be purchased from RISCOS Ltd.
