Focus on Watercolor Art!

Lawrence K. Meyers is a watercolorist who has created landscapes, still life, portraits, architectural studies, and cityscapes since 1982. As these works represent, Larry’s watercolors capture an exciting vision of the world that he observes in a unique style that communicates  a sense of emotion and wonder. Larry received degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. He had an outstanding and successful professional career in business and as a nationally recognized consultant focusing on business operations, quality improvement and technology development. He consulted in every conceivable industry, both public and private. He developed his artistic skills to balance his predominantly left-brained career path. This effort enhanced his appreciation and wonder for the beauty in nature and his intuitive capability to capture and share his vision. 

Larry has studied under Peggy Binns (1985-Radnor), Jeanne Ryan (1995 Newman College), Eileen Rosen (1999-Morris Arboretum), Wendy Scheirer (2011-Wayne Art Center) and most recently with James Toogood (2012-Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts). He has had his works accepted in juried exhibitions and on tour across the country including Le Cathedrale de Sacre Coeur, Montmarte, Paris with the Aqueous Solutions Exhibit (2001) and exhibited in The Gifts of the Arts Exhibit (2003), Surrey Services’ Havertown and Berwyn locations (2012 - 2013) and, most recently, in the First-Friday Exhibit (2012-The Great  Frame-up &  Gallery), The Heritage Day Festival (2012 Havertown Township) and at the Surrey Home Care Headquarters (2013).  Larry has taught an “Introduction to Watercolor” at Surrey’s Havertown location (2012) and an Advanced Course of Special Topics on "Art as a Business” for the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (2012-Arts for All Ages). He just completed teaching  courses in "Landscape Painting",  "Portrait Painting" and "Watercolor Tools & Techniques" at Surrey’s Havertown location, "An Introduction to Watercolor" at Greenhill in Wynnewood, conducted supervised Studio time  and exhibited at the Surrey Berwyn location during the Summers of 2012, 2013 and 2014. He also conducted an "Introductory Watercolor" course during the Fall, 2013,  “The Business Aspects of Art" during the winter and a course on “Drawing and Landscape Painting during the Spring, 2014”. Larry's artwork has been published in Surrey correspondence and gift calendars (2012 and 2013) and the Surrey Summer Exhibit at their  Berwyn location where he was the Juror of Awards.

Larry’s art was also on exhibit in the Trattoria San Nicola in Paoli (May, 2014 & 2015). He conducted Guided Studios at the Havertown Studio throughout the Summer, 2014 where artists observe demonstrations and receive hands-on mentoring. Larry has a series Plein Air Outings scheduled (Charles C. Knox Estate, Fairmount Park Horticultural Center and the Jersey Shore.
