In order to enroll in the SCILS Initiative, participants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be compliant with the Selective Service system (males only)
  • Must be either unemployed or underemployed (anyone who is either working less than 35 hours a week, OR is earning less than $20 per hour.)
  • Must be either a resident of the SCILS region, or a dislocated worker from a Metro Boston employer 
  • Must meet any other eligibility requirements or prerequisites as set by their SCILS supported program

The SCILS region includes the following towns and cities: Acton, Arlington, Ashland, Bedford, Bellingham, Belmont, Boston, Boxborough, Braintree, Brookline, Burlington, Cambridge, Canton, Carlisle, Carver, Chelsea, Cohasset, Concord, Dedham, Dover, Duxbury, Everett, Foxborough, Framingham, Franklin, Halifax, Hanover, Hingham, Holbrook, Holliston, Hopkinton, Hudson, Hull, Kingston, Lexington, Lincoln, Littleton, Malden, , Marlborough, Marshfield, Maynard, Medfield, Medford, Medway, Melrose, Middleborough, Millis, Milton, Natick, , Needham, Newton, Norfolk, North Reading, Norwell, Norwood, Pembroke, Plainville, Plymouth, Plympton, Quincy, Randolph, Reading, Revere, Rockland, Scituate, Sharon, Sherborn, Somerville, Southborough, Stoneham, Stow, Sudbury, Wakefield, Walpole, Waltham, Watertown, Wayland, Wellesley, Weston, Westwood, Weymouth, Wilmington, Winchester, Winthrop, Woburn, Wrentham
