February 4, 2012 – About 60 educators gathered at Georgia State for a workshop on Social Justice in the classroom. The workshop was facilitated by Scott Richie, from Kennesaw State and Vera Stenhouse, from the Georgia branch of the National Association for Multicultural Education. Participants learned about the Banks framework for Social Justice and watched some video examples of the framework in action. After learning about this framework, participants broke into small groups based on educational field. In small groups, teachers brainstormed ideas for incorporating Social Justice in their own classrooms.
