For the week of July 29 – September 1, 2019

                                                     *** UPCOMING SPECIAL EVENTS ***

There is an open invitation to the Victoria Electric Vehicle Club meetings, they are open to anyone interested. One does not need to own an EV nor to join the club to attend. Also joining the club is free. The meetings are at the House on the second Saturday of each month from 1pm – 4pm.

The mission of our club is to accelerate the change to electric transportation and we do our best to spread information about all aspects of electric vehicles, for example their purchase, charging, use, costs etc. We gladly answer any questions people may have offer rides with EVs etc.

You can find more information about our Electric Vehicle association on its website

MCA at Metchosin Day, Sunday September 8. Come visit the Metchosin Community House-sponsored Corn Booth for a steaming and delicious cob of Island fresh corn. When you are ready for a rest and some refreshment in a quiet setting, wander over to the Community House Tea Room.

We are looking for an hour or two from volunteers who may be willing to assist in coordinating or to helping man some of these activities:

 Set up and/or take down

 Cobbler Tearoom

 Corn Booth

It is always great fun being involved in helping to make this community event the special day we’ve come to enjoy. Check out the Metchosin Day website at or contact the Metchosin Community House Office 478-5155. “See you at the Fair”!!

It is summertime at the Community House and our usual Activity User Groups are on hiatus for the months of July and August so it’s a quiet week for activities at the House. VIHA continues through the summer on Monday’s and Wednesday’s at the House. We will keep you posted of up and coming events and if you are looking for a venue for any summer entertaining we have some open time on our calendar and would love to help you out. Just call or drop by the House and we can fill you in on our rental rates and availability.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Metchosin Community House has many fun events throughout the year that always rely on the volunteer support of our members, to which we are very grateful. We always place a callout for volunteers at times of our largest fundraisers, but there are always other ways to become involved throughout the year that gives people the chance to be active and have fun in this wonderful community and creates the opportunity to meet some new friends as well. If you would like to become more involved in your community and lend a hand give us a call, we’d love to hear from you. 478-5155.

There is a charm bracelet that have been found. If you think this may be yours please let us know 250-478-5155.

If you haven’t already take a look at our updated website by going to  and check out our online calendar of events. You might find it handy for booking your next event at the House. To book the House or for more info please call 250-478-5155
