If you are wanting to register a girl in Girl Scouts or wanting to volunteer in Girl Scouts, this the right place for you. Girl Scouts is the premier leadership organization for girls. We build girls of courage, character, and confidence.
Girl Scouts is open to ANY girl from Kindergarten through High School graduation. Troops meet weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly. They meet at homes, churches, schools, etc. Leaders are moms, dads, aunts, uncles, grandparents, college students, retired people, etc.
The troops are also part of a bigger service unit which is there to help adult volunteers as well as to create fun and educational events for the girls. We hold events all during the year for the troops to attend and for individual scouts and families to attend. Some things we do include a swim party, a talent show, community service events, the Mesquite parade, camp-outs, Christmas caroling, Christmas party, leader/daughter event, and many other things.
Join us at Lakeside Activity Center, 101 Holley Park Drive, Mesquite, Texas, on Saturday, September 19, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for our Carnival/Recruitment Event where you can play games, meet friends, have fun, do activities, eat food, get your face painted, get your hair chalked, learn all about Girl Scouts, and even join as a Girl Scout and/or adult volunteer. The event is come and go. So get your friends together and join us to find out what Girl Scouts is all about.
ANYONE can volunteer to lead a troop in Girl Scouts. Mom, dad, aunt, uncle, grandmother, grandfather, college student, Girl Scout alumnae, etc. You do not need to have a girl in scouts to come lead a troop. We are desperately in need of adult leaders and have girls waiting for troops. Please fill out the adult interest form to learn more about becoming a leader. You will never regret the time you spend as a leader as it is one of the most rewarding things you can do.
