Hello! Thank you for visiting my webpage.
I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at Amherst College and a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER).Â
I am an empirical economist who specializes in development economics and applied microeconomics. In my research, I study how policy, geography, and historical factors affect contemporary economic development and political outcomes. I study issues ranging from the constraints on agricultural productivity to how historical patterns of migration shape socioeconomic and political outcomes in the long-run.
