Facts and Questions

Who are we?

We are Liverpool’s LGBT football team, formed in 2005. The primary aim of the club is to offer gay men within Liverpool and surrounding areas the opportunity to play football in a supportive and inclusive environment.

As a mixed team we welcome anyone gay, straight, bi or trans of all ages who simply wants to play football and be part of our club. As well as playing football we have a range of social events locally and further afield so there is something for everyone.

Where do Mersey Marauders train?

We train every Tuesday at St. John Bosco Arts College, 8-9pm on a 3G surface. Please arrive at 7.45pm. If you message us via Facebook or e-mail merseymaraudersfc@gmail.com someone will look out for you and introduce you some of the members.

How much does it cost?

Your first session is free and £5 thereafter. Regular attenders pay £15 per month to make a saving.

What if I haven’t played before or for a long time?

Don’t worry training is aimed at players of all abilities and as a mixed ability squad we cater for different needs within the session.

Mersey Marauders compete in a mix of competition and friendlies including the Gay Football Supporters Network League and Cup (GFSN), Local County Cup Competition and a range of friendlies and tournaments. These games are on a mix of Saturdays and Sundays.

How is the team selected?

Teams are selected based on a number of factors including ability.  We try to arrange games to cater for different ability where possible. When possible we take into account players who regularly train and accompany us on away trips. Selection is based at the Managers discretion.

That’s fine, we have members who just join us on our social events and members who like to train but not play in the games.

How do I join Mersey Marauders?
When you have been to couple of training sessions we will send you out a membership form. This will detail all the terms and conditions and give you more details regarding arrangements including games. We can then add you to our internal Facebook group to keep you up to date with all our activities.

If you have any further question you contact us via our Facebook page or e-mail us at Merseymaraudersfc@gmail.com
