00 - The Fool

The Fool is the main character at the beginning of the journey, inexperienced and unlearned and with an empty mind that needs to be filled with wisdom and knowledge gained from the other 'characters', or cards. In this case, Arthur and Merlin have the most to learn from each other, even if they never realize who it is they are learning from.

The Cards

00 - The Fool (Arthur)
00 - The Fool (Merlin)
00 - The Fool (Arthur)
00 - The Fool (Merlin)

I picked Arthur for this card because he is the Fool in a very developmental sense. This scene is from the first episode, where he bullies his people without remorse or consequence, and gets in a fight with Merlin just because Merlin stood up to him. He doesn't know or care much about the world beyond himself his his father, and he has much to learn.

I picked Merlin for this card because the Fool is often seen traveling, leaving his home to venture out into the wide world he wants to explore. This pictures is from the very first episode when Merlin is walking from Ealdor to Camelot. He is a Fool, unlearned in magic and still very innocent (and, yes, foolish), and still with a lot to learn.
