Lily's Blackberry Cobbler

Just remember the 1:1:1 ratio and you can change the quantities as you need to.

  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup self rising flour
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4 Tbsp butter, melted
  • a bunch of juicy berries!

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

For this super easy dessert, you start by just mixing together sugar, self rising flour, milk and vanilla for the batter.  (Give it a taste.  It's yummy!)

Melt butter in the bottom of a baking dish.

Pour the batter over the butter.  The butter will come up around the sides of the batter and make it crispy, crunchy, and golden!

Add the fresh or frozen berries right over the batter. As little or as liberally as you like.  There is no need to even mix them into the batter.  The batter will cook up around the berries as it rises.  This is SUPER simple!

Bake for about an hour.... serve with a big scoop of ice cream!
