Our apartment has charm, light, air, unbelievable views over Paris, in a trendy and authentic neighborhood. It's at the sixth and top floor of a hundred-year-old building (with elevator) and is very quiet. There are wooden floors and a lot of atmosphere. With three rooms and a sleeping alcove, it's perfect for a couple or a family with one or two children. There's a comfortable and functional eat-in kitchen with everything you need to cook the outstanding ingredients that you'll purchase in the neighborhood shops and markets. The bathroom has a bathtub. There is free high-speed internet access, and even free telephone calls to most of the world.
Our neighborhood, near the top of Père Lachaise and place Gambetta, is a perfect base for exploring Paris. It's calm and leafy (our street is lined with old linden trees), with a village-like atmosphere, but also has an interesting collection of original cafés (great sidewalk terraces for the summer), shops, galleries and concert venues. There are many small public gardens and parks (two just on our street), and it's very child-friendly. There are excellent food shops and markets just minutes away on foot.
Our neighborhood is very well connected to the rest of Paris. The nearest metro station (Gambetta) is 3 minutes away, and from there you can take the metro and be in Notre Dame in 15 minutes.
Here are some photos of the interior, of the views from our windows, and our neighborhood. Click any of the thumbnails below to enlarge.
