THE MENDED HEARTS, INC. (MHI) is a national organization dedicated to providing support and inspiring hope in heart disease patients and their families.

MHI was organized in 1951 and incorporated in 1955 to help patients who were about to have coronary artery bypass surgery or who already had the surgery. Over the years the program has been expanded to include anyone having any type of heart disease: hypertension, congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, arrhythmia, heart valve replacement, stents, heart transplants, etc.
For some, this can be a difficult time, and we would like you to know that you are not alone. Mended Hearts extends our sincere wishes to you for a successful recovery and good health. A MHI volunteer is available to visit with you while you're in the hospital. Our volunteers are survivors themselves and their goal is to help others see that life with heart disease can still be full and rewarding.

If you'd like to have a MHI member visit with you and/or your family in the hospital, at your home, via the telephone or email, please contact us at: MendedHeartsSuffolkCounty@gmail.com. We are available to be of service and support as you continue your journey to recovery and the years after.
We have members and caregivers from all over Suffolk County, New York, from the Twin Forks to Smithtown, South Shore to North Shore, and we would love for you to come to our meetings and get to know your Long Island neighbors. If you know someone who has had heart surgery, please pass this information onto them.
