Step One - Determine Your Eligibility
If you have documentation that leads you to believe you may be descended from a passenger on the Mayflower voyage of 1620 that terminated on the shores of New England at Plymouth, you may be eligible to join the Society. Any person able to document their lineal descent from one or more of the Mayflower passengers is eligible to apply for membership in the Society. Click here to download the Standards of Evidence for your documentation.
Step Two - Submit a Lineage Review Form and a Preliminary Application
Complete both forms and mail them to the
Membership Secretary along with a check for the appropriate fee. The lineage
review provides a synopsis of your lineage from the Mayflower passenger to you.
Please include full names of all spouses. After review of your synopsis
our Historian will contact you to complete the next steps of the application
process. Be sure to include your phone number on the form.
Step Three– Completion of the Worksheet
Once the Society State Historian receives your Lineage Review Form and Preliminary Application, you will be contacted via mail, email, or by telephone if there are any questions regarding your application.
When everything seems to be in order, the Historian will prepare the final Application and mail it to you for your review and signature. When the signed final Application is received by our Historian, they will forward it, with your documentation, to the Historian General of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants.
