Retro Journey has taken priority.

For those of you that don't know, Inkagafar has stopped. I doubt anyone follows this blog anyway, but the Retro Journey blog has effectively become this blog too. If anything important becomes relevant that you need to know, it will be posted on there.

For those of you that don't know, Retro Journey is a software company run by myself and some friends. Just go to the website, it's much better than this.

F*** You Microsoft

posted 21 May 2014, 12:27 by Jay Perry   [ updated 30 May 2014, 18:40 ]

I've had it with Microsoft. First of all, I have two email addresses on Hotmail/Outlook, as I'm sure most people do have two emails, so it's a problem when for my main email I have an app on my Windows 8 Home screen to go straight to it, and I have a handy addon called X-Notifier on Firefox to notify me when I get an email on my email address that is never used, just incase.

Now, let's talk about the first issue.

Recently I've been needing to go onto the Xbox website more frequently because of all the issues I've been having (all ready not starting out too well for them). Because of the fact I've been needing to go the website, I need to sign in, and, because I was hacked once, I now have two layers of security, which takes forever to go through because whenever I press the button to not need to verify my identity on this system, it doesn't work. I've pressed it so many times, hoping that it will work.

I'm just insane, it's never going to.

Also, it's an authenticator app, which means every time I want to go onto the Xbox website I need to take out a phone, open the app, type in the code, tick the useless box, and then I can sign in.
This is just infuriating, but then there's more. Oh boy there's more...

Because I'm pretty much always signed into my secondary email, when you click sign in on the Xbox website instead of just bringing you into a sign in screen it signs you in on the email address you're currently signed in on in your browser, it keeps asking me if I want to make an account for retrojourney@outlook.com.
No Microsoft, just let me sign in on my normal account god dammit! This means I need to go into outlook, sign out, and do the above two-step verification bullcrap.
Not only that, the problems I've been having with my Xbox have no fix. Not even kidding. Basically whenever I try to download something, it says that it couldn't retrieve the credit card info.

Yeah. Real stable system you got Microsoft.

So obviously I go to see if something is wrong with my credit card info-- wait a minute...

"Sorry, there's a problem with the Xbox service. Try again later. For help with this problem, go to www.xbox.com/errorhelp.
Status code: 801430FA"

Wha-- what?! Yes, I can't check my credit card information. So I did it online (after the tedious two-step verification), and found out the credit card was fine, but just to be sure, I re-added it. Let's just go back to the Manage Payment Options in the 360--
"Sorry, there's a problem with the Xbox service. Try again later. For help with this problem, go to www.xbox.com/errorhelp.
Status code: 801430FA"
...
Yeah, it kinda sucks.

So obviously the first thought is, "Well why don't you look up the error code? I mean, there is an official Microsoft Error Finder at the /errorhelp link it gave you earlier."
Oh, I tried it. If you want to know how that went, just copy and paste the code into the error finder. I'll wait, you just do it. Go on, do it.
If you didn't do it, here is a picture of what you should see.

Yes, the OFFICIAL Error Finder doesn't know what this error is that is ruining the so little things that I actually cared for in the 360, and that is why I refuse to buy any more consoles by Microsoft.
F*** you Microsoft, I am NOT going to be buying the XBOne, but the PS4 will be all mine.

If you're still not convinced by now that the 360 is a terrible idea and Microsoft don't deserve any of the money from both the 360 and XBOne, then leave this website right now.
For those of you who also think that the XBOne is better than the PS4, let's put it this way. Yes, right now the XBOne has better games. Yes, right now the PS4 doesn't have many good games for it. Yes, right now the PS4 has next to no games where as the XBOne has a fair amount. You've got to remember though that it's still the very start of the Seventh-Gen (Current Next-Gen) console war, so you have to think about what there will be in the future. Just remember that buying a console at launch is a horrible idea, as it's still missing all of the games that will make it worthwhile, it's still new so you don't know the game list yet (or the game quality), and also the specs of the console are important. The PS4 has better graphics rendering, but 10% less processing power than the XBOne, so you take your pick. The things that make the two systems any better are easily counterbalanced by the other one, so they're pretty much the same, and it's impossible to decide which one IS better. You know what to do in this situation?
Wait 6-12 months. By this time more games will be released, and the price will be cut down as well so it'll be a bit cheaper to buy. If you want a handy guide on this stuff, listen to this song. If you STILL want to buy the XBOne or PS4 right now after the song AND my analysis, then you are beyond helping.

Did you know I livestream? I do it every now and then, and I'm currently in the middle of a Terraria Survival stream. It comes on (so far at least) every day at 7PM, and lasts 'til about 8-9PM. When I livestream on a weekend it lasts a lot longer, going to possibly 10PM, or perhaps 11. Check it out, or alternatively watch it in the new page on Melting Website called "Melting Livestream". Its pretty intresting stuff, and if you get really lucky then weird things'll happen!

I'm Back!

posted 30 Aug 2013, 08:32 by Jay Perry

I've just been on holiday for a week in Sharm el Sheik, Egypt. I've finally come back and decided that the first thing I should do is make a new video intro, and second of all is to revive my YouTube account. I don't get how so many YouTube accounts just get kicked into the dirt, but meh. Who cares? As long as I keep trying to get "up there", then that shows that i'm not backing down without a fight. Speaking of "low followers", this website doesn't actually have many people who follow it, kind of annoying really. Anyway, main point is i'm back.

Your World of Text

Now, I'm pretty sure most of you have heard of this already, but if you haven't then this is what it is. It's a huge, infinite blank page where you can type literally ANYWHERE. Other people can edit yours or type around it, and it turns into a big wall of text, with random typing everywhere. I have my very own Melting Website world of text, so if you want to check it out, click HERE. Check it out, I hope it can become a huge...

Slugification

posted 26 Jul 2013, 03:46 by Jay Perry   [ updated 26 Jul 2013, 03:46 ]

If you recieve an injection of anything in both arms at the same time, watch out. One of the unintended side-effects is "slugocoriosis" (SLUG-OH-CORE-E-OH-SIS). This condition gradually makes your arms drop off, your legs detach, and your neck shorter until your head is part of your body. After these effects, your ears will grow longer, into, "pole-like hearing things". These effects will start to happen during your first sleep after the two injections, although extensive periods of being awake can also trigger the transformation, and after the transformation is complete you will have incredible difficulty doing normal things. There is one definite plus to slugocoriosis however; the ability to climb walls. You see, after the main transformation, if you are still asleep, then the condition will add a slimy underlayer to your body. Slugocoriosis has has been known to result in many "human-slug hybrid" situations, however you should still avoid the dual-needle combo.

This has been the "Slugification" page of our "Health and Safety Problems in the Hospital/Doctors" series, and now you know about slugocoriosis. Be safe, and don't recieve two jabs at once.
Or else.

Zombie Survival

posted 14 Jun 2013, 13:29 by Jay Perry

There are many zombie-survival games out there these days, however I have my own idea. Me and 4 other friends had the EXACT SAME DREAM but from out own points of view, and that would mean you can have 5 different campaigns. Each one is a tragedy in its own way, with parents dying, shock everywhere, and set in an open-end survival town of Bridlington, UK. We already had an idea for 5 different stories based on it, and one of my friends had an idea for a movie, we wanted to call them all "The Horde".
Video Game: The Horde
Movie: The Horde
Book: The Horde
           (Name Here's) Story

Send me an email if you think that "The Horde" is a good idea!

Battlefield 3: Confusion

posted 10 Apr 2013, 05:22 by Jay Perry   [ updated 10 Apr 2013, 08:52 ]

The plot goes like this:
Mission 1: On a train with handcuffs. Are you a criminal? Mission ends once you get ambushed

Mission 2: 24 hours before Mission 1. We go to the past, IN the past, to figure out what is happening in the background of the future in the present.

Mission 3: You have been trapped under rubble. I believe, if I remember correctly, that is all there is in this mission, after escaping to a helicopter.

Mission ?: I can't remember, I think you morph into some russian who is trying to stop a nuke going off in Paris after some mission where you find out about nukes. Yeah, makes sense.

Mission 9?: After morphing into other people and doing a not-so-stealthy stealth mission, you get asked about something else. Oh, and guess what? If I interpreted the mission correct, then this mission is set before ALL the other missions. So you know what? Its set in the past further in the past than the past from before, while being set in the past during an interview that happened, guess what, in the past, just so we all know what is going on technically in the present which then leads into the FUTURE.
Try saying that out loud.

Final Mission: We escape from the interview after getting, heh, handcuffed to a desk and breaking the handcuffs off, so now we still have them on on one hand. Mission 1, anybody?
Anyway, you escape into the train from the present/future, and then carry on into the future, (or is it the present?) and find out what happened after the ambush. If you were expecting something dramatic, all we got were quick-time events and... a crappy end cutscene. It also explains how Mr Russian who you morphed into earlier is still alive after getting caught in the blast of the nuke. Turns out that he has being poisoned from the radiation and could die at anytime, and how he wrote out all the events in a book. So guess what this means?

The whole game took place in the past, going back to the past to explain what happened in a later time, still in the past, which can only be explained by going back into the past, then a later past, then a future past, then a later past, and so on, all the way until you get to an EVEN LATER PAST, which then brings you into the future past, which then turns out to all be in the present, in the future.
Go figure.

Minecraft Achievement Idea

Here's an idea, a multiplayer only achievement.
Here's what it could look like:
I already have an idea as to how you get it, but I'll leave that to you. Send me an email with how you think you should get it!

Black Mesa: 100%

posted 3 Apr 2013, 09:23 by Jay Perry

I 100% completed Black Mesa.
It was hard as hell, (mostly the achievement for bringing the hat to Xen with you) but I finally did it. Now I don't know what to play next, just like when I completed "Mother 3", I didn't know what to play after that to top it off. Oh god, just... nostalgia, playing HL again, but with slight differences, when ever I noticed one I jumped up and shouted, "Thats different! Those clever guys who made this..." Most changes had been made for the better, with only a couple of exceptions, but still. Amazing work Black Mesa team! Looking forward to the update which includes Xen in it!
