Ms. Runyon

I grew up in Alaska and found my way to Idaho for college. I attended NNU and graduated with a music education degree. My first teaching job was in Fairfield, Idaho, a very small town, where I taught K-12 music for 7 years and loved it. I am excited to be at Melba Junior and Senior High School again for a second year.  I will be teaching junior high band, high school band, junior high choir, high school choir, piano and guitar. I am pumped for this year!

I have a lot of hobbies. I enjoy the outdoors; everything from hiking, which is probably my favorite, to camping, to snowboarding and snowshoeing, to mountain biking and many more.  I of course enjoy playing and listening to music. I try to go to performances as much as I can. I am pretty crafty and it is relaxing to me to be artsy. I enjoy taking pictures, especially when I am traveling.  I have been to 26 of the 50 states and one day it will be all 50.  I have been to Ireland, Italy, France, England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Spain.  I also have been to many places in the Caribbean, and Central America, including through the Panama Canal.

This last summer I did a lot of hiking, backpacking and camping. I hiked 228 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail through the Sierras in California, which was an amazing experience.
Here are a few pictures from that:
