Summer Program

Each year, the children living at Union Square Apartments have the opportunity to participate in a summer program that includes character development activities, field trips, academic enrichment, arts and crafts, games and lots of fun.  The program is supported by local businesses, churches and organizations.  Leaders are adult or teen volunteers.  Junior high age students participate in a work program, mowing lawns, etc.  For information about enrolling a child, volunteering or donating to the program, please contact us.

The 2013 summer program encouraged the children to develop 7 habits based on the books by Sean Covey;
Responsibility, Defining and Setting Goals, Prioritizing, Teamwork, Being a Good Listener, Accepting Individual Differences, and Being a Continual Learner. Children learned through various activities including reader's theater, poetry and rap, stories, games, and field trips.  The video below was made by the children during the summer program.
