Guitar Tablatures of Mediaeval, Renaissance, & Baroque Music

"Awake, my lute, and struggle for thy part
With all thy art.
The cross taught all wood to resound his name,
Who bore the same."
(Easter, George Herbert, 1593-1633)

Tablatures are given in PDF, MIDI, and Guitar Pro formats. THE TABS are on the pages listed in the sidebar AT LEFT.

Most of the arrangements use standard guitar tuning. A few use Renaissance lute tuning, where the 3rd string is tuned down half a step to F#.

The style of performance may be rather free, sustaining the notes as long as desirable and practicable. As in lute tablature, the note values indicate timing more than duration. The performer may wish to add ornaments.
