The Valley of the Rogue New Horizons Band, Larry’s Music, and Medford Parks and Recreation Dept. host the summer Band Camp for Middle School and home-schooled students at:


Cascade Christian High School, 855 Chevy Way, Medford

 9:00 to 11:00 AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays 

July 11 - August 10, 2017

Final Concert & Band Potluck -- Rogue Valley Square Dance Center, 3377 Table Rock Road, Medford  -- 10:00 a.m. Saturday August 12.


Middle school or home schooled students who play woodwind, percussion, or brass instruments with at least one year’s experience are invited to participate. Students will practice and perform with the senior musicians of the New Horizons Band, allowing both an opportunity to improve their skills in a relaxed, fun environment.  Parents who may have put aside their instruments are invited to get them out and join their kids in learning and performing music. Part time attendance is acceptable for those students who will be away for some of this period


       Mike Wraight, the 2017 summer band director, taught band for 34 years in Australia, Colorado, California and Oregon.  His  longest tenure was at Phoenix High School.  He currently plays French horn in several  Rogue Valley groups, including Valley of the Rogue New Horizons Band.  


The cost is $50.00 per person. A limited number of memorial scholarships are available for students with financial need. All players must bring their own instruments and music stands.
