We have a marvelous series of fall and Christmas concerts. Thank you Carol O'Neil for arranging the programs with the various retirement communities and for directing the band while we search for a new director. Thank you Mike Wraight for directing the Christmas music. Start up date for 2017 rehearsals is January 17th.

The Valley of the Rogue New Horizons Band welcomes interested concert band instrumentalists. If you haven't played for awhile, playing with us on a regular basis will help you get back into shape and have fun at the same time. Some of our members dusted off their instruments after decades of inactivity. Others have been playing forever, but enjoy the challenge of the music and the camaraderie of this very active community band. No auditions are required and all levels of playing skill are welcome. Our directors select an interesting variety of music styles and difficulties, from the sweet simplicity of Londonderry Air to the vigorous challenge of Light Cavalry.
Meet the band. Our members come from Medford, Eagle Point, Grants Pass, Ashland, Phoenix, Talent, Central Point, Gold Hill, Sams Valley, Jacksonville, Applegate, White City, and even Klamath Falls and Prospect. Most members are retired but the band welcomes all ages and home-school players. We are part of the New Horizons International Music Association, Inc. For more information about the New Horizons' recognition of the joys and benefits of music and a listing of other NH groups, visit: http://www.newhorizonsmusic.org/.
We provide numerous free performances throughout the year at retirement centers, community events, and other nonprofit venues. Since the concerts are usually held during the day on Tuesdays or Thursdays, we don't rehearse on a concert day. In the summer months, the band, Larry's Music, and Medford Parks Department sponsor a summer band camp for middle school students. We love to play music together and hope you will join us soon. Check out photos of the band in action.
If you have questions as a newcomer or would like to book the band for your nonprofit event, please call or email the band contacts listed above.
