THE MEDITERRANEAN ARCHAEOLOGICAL TRUST
GRANTS TO ASSIST PUBLICATION
The Mediterranean Archaeological Trust, set up in 1959 for the promotion of the study of archaeology, invites applications for grants, made on a competitive basis, for expenses in 2014-15, in the preparation for final publication of material from archaeological excavation or fieldwork in the Mediterranean world, excluding subventions to publishers or publication of material not from a specific excavation, or in symposia. Within the terms of the Trust, priority may be given to publication of Bronze Age sites. Grants for any amount, however small, will be considered, provided they expedite publication. The grants do not normally exceed £ 2000.
Applications should be submitted on a form (newly introduced this year) available for download (in .doc format) at the bottom of this page (please click on small down-arrow at the bottom right of the page). Please provide all the information requested on the form and send it no later than 31 January 2014, to:

Two references are essential, either accompanying the application form in a sealed envelope or separately, and it is your responsibility to arrange for these to be provided. Referees should address your suitability and experience for the project concerned, as well as their view of the project’s importance to archaeological scholarship.
Successful applicants will be informed in April 2014, and it is essential that a report on the use of the grant is submitted by December 1, 2014.Additional guidelines for applicants and referees are available here.
