Undergraduate Research

Participating in a research program provides an opportunity to explore how your particular brand of science operates in the real world. In most programs you will work on a team research project that is designed to use your fundamental understanding of the subject matter, but also to expand your knowledge and learn how the disciplines of science work together. Students who participate in summer research programs typically have a rewarding and eyeopening experience. For information on National Science Foundation ( NSF ) sponsored Research Experiences for Undergraduates programs.

If you are interested in an REU, it is important that you research the program and complete the application by the deadline. Most applications will require letters of recommendation, transcripts and statements of interest.
