posted May 31, 2018, 5:52 PM by Ken Schmidt   [ updated May 31, 2018, 5:52 PM ]

The 2018 Meat Canning Project for 2018 completed with 53,120 lbs of chicken canned.  Nearly 250 volunteers helped from the Southern PA and Mid-Atlantic Districts.

Twenty-nine (29) Southern PA District congregations and one individual donated $39,934.04 toward funding for 2018.

Four (4) skids of canned chicken were sent to Honduras and Cuba and the two Districts each received over 390 cases to distribute to various agencies, food banks and congregations to help locals in need.

Thank all those in your congregation who helped make this year’s meat canning a success by making a donation of $2,000.

Brethren Disaster Relief Auction

Friday, Saturday—September 21 and 22, 2018

The annual Brethren Disaster Relief Auction is coming.   The Witness Team is again planning to donate two (2) theme baskets and baked goods to this year’s auction to be held at the Lebanon Fairgrounds on Sept 21 and 22.    All proceeds from this auction are used to help victims of natural disasters here and afar.    The auction is sponsored by the Southern and Atlantic Northeast Districts of the COB in Pa.

Our church will be collecting items for a “Tool/Household Repair” basket as well as an “Office Supplies” basket.     Containers will be placed in both gathering areas for collection of your donations.

There will be a sign-up sheet in the narthex for baked goods.     They do not accept any baked goods that require refrigeration.     Pie pans will be provided in early August.

Suggestions for the “Tool/Household Repair” basket would be household tools, screwdrivers, wrench sets, products for use in the garage, buckets, sponges, car cleaning products, household lubricating/gluing products, or gift cards from auto/hardware stores.

Suggestions for the “Office Supplies” basket would be envelopes, post-it notes, sharpies, paper clips, pens/pencils, computer paper, Staples gift cards, tablets, etc.

Also if you have an art or craft that you would like to display or sell at the auction, please see Janet Z. for details.

Thank you for your support of this ministry.

NOTE:  Pick up an early information pamphlet in the narthex or back gathering area.  The full information BOOKLET with advertisements and additional pictures will be delivered after August 5th.  They will be placed at both entrances.  A BDRA General Donation Request Sheet is on a clipboard with the SIGN UP Sheets.
