2017 Cookie Collection

ATTENTION ALL BAKERS…GET READY TO BAKE!

Once again, the Mechanicsburg Church of the Brethren will be taking part in the Cookie Collection for Carlisle Truck Stop Ministry, Inc.  In 2016, Carlisle Truck Stop Ministry, Inc. distributed over 13,600 bags of cookies to the cookie collection and the Witness Team would like to see that matched or exceeded.  The cookies should be dropped off at a designated table just outside the kitchen in Fellowship Hall on December 7th – 8th – 9th.

In the upcoming weeks, you will see notices in the bulletins with more details and a SIGN UP Sheet in the narthex asking to contribute cookies toward this worthy cause.  Let’s make the holidays a little more joyous for travelers and truckers.

Brethren Disaster Relief Auction

posted Jul 2, 2017, 7:31 PM by Ken Schmidt   [ updated Sep 27, 2017, 9:37 PM ]

Brethren Disaster Ministries is continuing to prepare Hygiene Kits and Emergency Cleanup Buckets for the catastrophic disaster that has impacted the people of Texas, Louisiana, Florida and Puerto Rico.   As we have all heard on the news, this is a disaster that will not disappear in weeks or months. We are still collecting items for both kits. A box for each of these kits has been placed in the Narthex with lists of items needed for the kits. Please take a list and purchase any of the items and drop them in the appropriate box. If you do not wish to shop or have difficulties shopping, you may give monetary donations to Linda W. or Janet Z. The kits will be assembled as items are received. Any questions or concerns may be directed to Linda and or Janet.

The website for direct donations to Brethren Disaster Ministries can be found at: http://www.brethren.org/bdm/hurricane-harvey.html.
