Meet our New Coordinator for Youth Ministry:

Andrew W.!


Andrew began his work for the congregation at the beginning of April, and is already well underway with activities with our youth.  With his permission, here’s a bit of background for Andrew:

  •           born in North Manchester, Indiana to Dean and Jerriann (1986)
  • ·         the eldest of 3 sons, (Jacob and Laban are his younger brothers)
  • ·         moved with his family to Camp Blue Diamond (COB Camp in Middle PA District) in 1991, where his parents continue to serve as camp directors
  • ·         attended high school in Huntingdon, and was involved with Marching, Concert, and Jazz Bands, Show and Concert Choir, Drama Club, Ski Club, and Drum Ensemble
  • ·         attended Stone COB in Huntingdon and United Baptist Brethren in State College
  • ·         served on the Mid PA Youth Ministry Team and Youth Cabinet
  • ·         worked at Camp Blue Diamond as a full-time summer staff member for 8 seasons as a counselor, naturalist, games director, and worship leader
  • ·         attended Elizabethtown College, where he worked in the office of the chaplain, studied abroad in Sydney, Australia, and met his future wife, Lauren Ciriac.
  • ·         graduated from Elizabethtown College in 2008 with a B.A. in Religious Studies
  • ·         worked at Friendly’s Restaurant in Hershey, PA as a Cook and Manager (08-16) and Hummelstown UCC as the part-time Youth Coordinator (09-14)
  • ·         married Lauren C. in 2013.
  • ·         enrolled as a first-year student at Lancaster Theological Seminary, where he and Lauren live on campus.  Lauren works at “The Hershey Story, The Museum on Chocolate Avenue” as a collections assistant, and has completed her Masters in
      •  Museum studies at Johns Hopkins University.
  • ·         expecting their first child in mid-September, and just learned that they will be having a daughter!

We welcome Andrew to this new role, and look forward to the energy and skills he brings to this role with our youth.  We are pleased to have both Andrew and Lauren worshipping with us, and look forward to their new arrival in the fall!
