(From Pastor Del)

“Thanks, Del, for your message and for checking in.

Your message came during our visit to Thailand with Mark, John-Michael and Heather who are visiting for a couple of weeks.  Both "boys" studied in Chiang Mai and we were able to re-visit sites they remember fondly.

We continue to enjoy our time here, learning and experiencing much and we are especially thankful to have been here to witness Malaysia's historic election earlier this month.  We return to the States on July 24.

Thanks again for staying in touch and please give our greetings to Lois and all at MCOB.”

“We are enjoying our sabbatical, and it's a healthy blend of free time and space to work on our own projects and assignments related to my work for Messiah.  We are hosted here by Methodist College, with whom Messiah has an academic relationship, and they have been very gracious hosts providing housing, local hospitality and orientation to life in this very lively and multicultural urban center.  Our neighborhood is a virtual paradise for my project related to interfaith leadership and peace-making:  we live across the street from two Hindu temples, and within a 10 minute walk from our apartment there is a mosque, a Buddhist temple, a Chinese temple, and three churches.  It's a perfect "laboratory" for my project, and I'm meeting local interfaith peace-makers and learning about their work.

Ruth is also enjoying living among so many Chinese (roughly half of the population of Kuala Lumpur are Malaysians of Chinese ancestry), and she is continuing her writing having just sent in an article for a Chinese Christian magazine.”
