Bus Tour & Box Luncheon - April 4th, 2018

Gettysburg National Military Park


Mechanicsburg Church of the Brethren is planning a bus tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield on April 4th with pick up at the church at 9:00 AM. Wolf's Bus Lines will provide a 47 passenger bus (with a rest room).


Cost for the trip is $20.00 per person.

Reservation Deadline:  March 25th

Optional $5.00 boxed lunch from the MCOB kitchen.

Sandwich options are ham or turkey. 

Lunch includes: applesauce, chips, cookie, water, and sandwich.

You may also choose to bring your own lunch.


The four (4) hour tour includes travel to major points of interest on the National Battlefield and an "on the bus" lecture by certified tour guide Terry Fox.  At each stop, those who so choose can exit the bus to hear the guide’s brief talk there as well.


The points of interest beginning with The Gettysburg Battle itself, the site of Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, and the importance of Cemetery Hill (which was a key feature of the Union army's battle lines and principal to their victory at Gettysburg) are included on the tour.  The Soldiers National Cemetery, famous throughout the world, is a great experience and one to remember.


The bus leaves Gettysburg for return at 3:00 PM We plan to arrive back at Mechanicsburg Church of the Brethren at approximately 4 o'clock.

About the tour guide, Terry F: 

Terry's grandfather owned a farm on the Gettysburg Battlefield and he himself is a retired adjunct professor of Gettysburg College.  Terry is an "encyclopedia” of Gettysburg history!
