Backstamps & Makers' Marks

Royal Princess

White body with cobalt panels alternating with orange and green floral panels on a grey floral background around edge.  Scalloped edges.
This pattern is a real mystery.  The only piece with J & G MEAKIN on is the cup, where is is embossed on the base and the 'Royal Princess' backstamp is a completely new one.  Was it a special order for an ocean liner ?  The only 'vintage' ship of that name I can find (a pleasure steamer on the river Thames in London) was built in 1935 but this looks far earlier from the style of the gravy boat - early 1900s -1920s.
Thanks to Sherry for the picture of the cup and saucer.
