Grandma T's Chocolate Icing

1/3 cup butter
1/4 cup milk
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups confectioner's sugar
  1. Combine the butter and milk, and melt in microwave until butter is melted - 1 minute at 60% is usually fine.
  2. Add the vanilla and chocolate chips - mix til' blended.
  3. Add the confectioner's sugar, beating well with an electric mixer until smooth and glossy.  The icing will be thin - if it's too thin, allow it to cool for about 15-20 minutes or until it's the consistency you like.  Spread on cake.
