Report: “Significant Amount Of Explosives” Found In Watertown Home – Update: 7 More IEDs Found In Cambridge And Watertown Houses… ======================================================================================= SS ...THIS IS .HOW LAST NIGHT WENT IN BOSTON Boston locked down for massive manhunt; one bombing suspect killed, the other at large By Annie Gowen, Sari Horwitz and Jerry Markon, Updated: Friday, April 19, 1:34 PM WATERTOWN, Mass. — Boston and its suburbs remained in an unprecedented state of lockdown Friday afternoon as scores of police and federal agents searched for the remaining suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings, after his brother died in an early-morning confrontation with authorities. The quest to find Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, a 19-year-old immigrant of Chechen origin who is also known as Jahar, riveted the nation, as cable networks and Web sites carried nonstop coverage and talk of the manhunt dominated Twitter. In Boston, the lockdown triggered the disruption of a major American city, with mass transit canceled, schools and business closed and hundreds of thousands residents ordered indoors. A 20-block area of the suburb of Watertown was cordoned off, and Amtrak has suspended train service indefinitely between New York and Boston. Law enforcement officials said they believed Tsarnaev may be strapped with or carrying explosives, which only added to the concern. In dramatic new details, federal law enforcement officials on Friday provided a vivid account of the night’s events. After the MIT officer was killed, according to officials who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the unfolding case, the brothers carjacked the SUV and told the driver that they were the marathon bombers. They let the driver out and then led police on a chase that ended up in a shootout in Watertown, about 15 minutes from Cambridge. There, the officials said, police tackled Tamerlan in the street. His brother, trying to save him, drove a car at the officers. Police jumped out of the way, and Tamerlan was dragged under the car. The younger brother then fled, setting off the manhunt that gripped the region on Friday. “There are a lot of places where he could hide,” said one of the officials. The turn of events came only hours after the brothers were introduced to the world as suspects, via photos and video footage, in Monday’s bombings that killed three people and injured more than 170 at the finish line of the venerable sporting event. While SWAT teams have flooded the Watertown area, where police believe Tsarnaev is hiding, investigators in Washington and elsewhere are working feverishly to track down information about the two brothers, according to senior law enforcement officials involved in the effort. Numerous federal investigators are interviewing fa
