Stop today, pause and just take in the beauty that is around you, the beauty that is you. Spend a few moments just appreciating beauty. The trees, flowers, even the weeds. Watch the waves or the passing and gathering clouds. Look at the rushing river, while it may be flooded revel in its beauty and the beauty of transformation.

The Promise

posted Apr 24, 2011, 8:10 AM by Dr Philip Terry-Smith

In most spiritual beliefs there is a promise, a promise that through sacrifice, by living a life of faith, and life of integrity a promise is made and a promise will be kept. That promise is the promise of life renewed and life eternal. That promise is that through the death comes life. What does that really mean? How can that be a guiding principle in ones life?

Paradigm shift

Earth Day...a day dedicated to reminding one to be mindful of the earth and the use/mis-use of resources...Perhaps, a slight shift in our paradigm...perhaps we need to be mindful EVERYDAY and incorporate into our awareness our impact on the earth and thereby the impact the earth has on our wellbeing.

Extremes 4/21

It seems this season, like most seasonal changes, is one of extremes... or at least it appears to be extreme to us. Is it possible that what seems extreme is merely the norm, merely part of a normal cycle that may extend beyond our normal  comprehension. Perhaps we should look outside of our immediate perception in our search for understanding and appreciate what may be larger patterns of existence as opposed to the immediate perception.

Beauty in transformation 4/20

posted Apr 20, 2011, 7:04 AM by Dr Philip Terry-Smith

I am amazed at the profound yet simple transformation that occur this time of year. Not long ago, the ground was barren and only a few buds appeared on trees with just a few hints of plants surfacing. Then the plants blossomed, the trees blossomed and the wonderful fragrant promise of spring surrounded us. A wind storm or a few thunderstorms and it seems that promise was washed away. Yet from that often violent environmental change and what appeared to be destruction of the most beautiful presentation of the tress and flowers, those lovely, bright and vibrant flowers, comes a wonderful growth, the unfolding of leaves and a stretching towards to heavens, towards the sun. A subtle reminder of the promise of yet another season, one of warmth and growth.
