Due to the nature of the hike and the exposure I had to limit the group size to only eight. So a small group of us met at the start of the India Venster path early on Sunday morning. We made swift progress up to Africa Ledge and after a short break in the welcome shade of the Tea Cave and a brief trip to the Lily Pond to refill water bottles, we set off on the exciting, spectacular traverse. At times the ledge is only a few centimeters wide and there is a drop of close to 80 meters at the highest point making sure you step with care is essential. The ledge disappears and you are left wondering where to go. A tight squeeze in to a hole is followed by a wonderful cave like ledge as you skirt behind huge boulders to re-emerge further along where the ledge widens again. A walk down Union Ravine and then back to the Lower Cable Station finished it off.
