There seemed to be little interest in a bouldering trip to Paarl, but four of us met at the Paarl Mountain Reserve entrance on a beautifully clear autumn day. One of the four misread to meet description and was introduced to bouldering for the first time. After this introduction, she decided to join another bunch of hikers who happened to walk past. With all of us being fairly climbing unfit, three of us remained and tried some of the boulder problems near the parking spot, with some success. One warrior left and was replaced by another as we moved on to new problems. By lunch time the skin on our fingers and fatigue in our unfit arms, together with a progressively heating up day, we called it quits and headed home from another great time in the outdoors.
